About Founder

Brad Cooper

In 1997, two friends and I started MC² Homes, changing from creating custom furniture to my life-long passion of custom built, high-quality homes.

Four years later, I took over MC² Homes with my wife Ellen, who is still involved in my company to this day, while running her own non-profit business. One of my original partners does our drafting and floor plan designs to this day.

We pride ourselves in doing high-quality work on every Custom Home project, no matter how large or small. We have a steady crew of great craftsman (some have been with us for over 20 years).  I completely trust our crews with my business and reputation, and in turn, your vision and investment.

Fun Fact: Our name is not derived from E=MC² (though Ellen jokingly says it does since her name starts with an “E”). MC² is the initials of the original 3 founders. One “M” and two “C’s”. I am one of the “C’s”.

About

Frame Up Now

FrameUpNow manufactures cold-formed steel (CFS) house framing to conform to your engineered framing house plans, or you can choose from one of our many DIY metal home plans. Frame components, panels and trusses are shipped to the job site, labeled and ready for assembly. With our system, your new home is framed in days, NOT weeks.

Cold-formed steel (CFS)  framing components are made from structural quality sheet steel that are precision formed into shapes such as C-channel by roll forming the steel through a series of dies. No heat is required to form the shapes (unlike hot-rolled steel). FrameUpNow DIY framing packages are lighter than other framing materials and in most cases no lifting equipment is required for installation. Our steel frame walls and trusses can easily be installed with a crew of 2 by hand. All pre-marked framing components snap together requiring no welding or special tools or equipment.  You can easily DIY your new FrameUpNow home yourself.

  • All framing parts are labeled and fit together perfectly – no waste and no need to cull through twisted or knotty lumber.
  • Frames from cold formed steel won’t shrink, twist or warp over time, so there’s less chance of sticking windows, jammed doors and wavy roof lines.
